Rally Organizers in Kaspi Detained

June 27, 2012

Law enforcement officers detained Tariel and Gia Okhanashvili from Doesi village in Kaspi district. Interpresnews’ correspondent reports detainees’ relatives associate the fact with the protest rally which was held in the village several days ago.

According to villagers both detainees are in Kaspi police station. Law enforcement bodies have not clarified the reason of Okhanashvilis’ detention though they were active during the protest rally when local people requested irrigation water in the village.

Head of Kaspi office of the Coalition Georgian Dream Khatuna Tatanashvili also connected the detention of Tariel and Gia Okhanashvili with this fact. She said Doesi residents face serious problems because of lack of irrigation water and they protested it. Okhanashvilis had organized the rally.

Tatanashvili said Tariel and Gia Okhanashvilis cooperated with Georgian Dream too.
