International Day in Support of Torture Victims in Tbilisi

On June 26, Georgian Centre for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) and Human Rights Center (HRIDC) together with the Human Rights House Tbilisi (HRHT) celebrated UN International Day in Support of Torture Victims.

Demonstration against torture was organized in Veris Parki.

Screening of the documentary and follow-up discussion took place in the office of the Open Society Georgia Foundation. Winners of the journalist competition – Human Rights, Focus on Torture were awarded in the OSGF office.

In the evening on the same day, participants of the demonstration released air-lanterns in the sky in front of the Tbilisi Prison # 8 (Gldani prison) to express solidarity with torture victims.
