Dodo Chokheli Alleges Dusheti District Governor and Deputy Governor Threatened People

Dodo Chokheili, head of Georgian Dream’s Dusheti office stated the district governor and his deputies, leaders of various service departments at district administration were moving about the streets in Dusheti from the morning of July 1 and warned people against joining the scheduled assembly of the Georgian Dream that evening.

“Employees of the district administration started raid in the streets from 7:00 am. They visited almost every house, opened doors and warned people against going to the assembly. Beso Shagashvili visited families in Parnavazi Street. Several people said they could not understand purpose of the governor’s visit because they were not on the list of possible attendants of the demonstration. Deputy Governor Nino Khutsishvili, head of a service department Jimi Chelidze and some other officials also participated in the raid,” Dodo Chokheli told ICMM.

Representatives of the Dusheti district administration did not comment on the allegation.
