Prime-Minister to Be Authorized to Pass Decrees and Delegate Authority of Cooperation with Self-Governmental Agencies

The prime-minister will have authority to pass decrees and delegate authority of cooperation with self-governmental agencies. 

The draft-law about “Structure, Authority and Activities of Georgian Government” will regulate this issue.

According to the current law, prime-minister has authority to implement regional policy and coordinate cooperation of the central government with local self-governmental agencies, to pass individual legal acts – decrees within his/her competence, to implement full administrative functions in the government’s office and within his/her competence, to encourage personnel of the government’s chancellery and to impose disciplinary liabilities on them.

According to the draft-law, prime minister will be authorized to delegate above-listed authorities to other responsible persons. The parliament will discuss the draft-law in haste and today’s special session will finally pass it.
