MIA Arrested Participant of the Incident in Maidani Village

Abasha district department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested Akvsenti Jangvelashvili, resident of Maidani village.

“The officers of Abasha Regional Police Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the resident of Maidani village, Aqvsenti Jangveladze, who on August 14 has physically insulted Sopio Jangveladze during the meeting of the party supporters. Aqvsenti Jangveladze is detained under the Administrative Violations Code of Georgia, under the article 166. In accordance with the Court’s decision he was sentenced to five days of administrative imprisonment,” the MIA statement reads.

According to current information, Jangveladze was arrested because of incident that occurred when Georgian Dream’s majoritarian candidate in Abasha Irakli Sabulua was meeting voters in Maidani village.

Sabulua said aggressive women and drunken men approached the meeting participants. Because of verbal and physical controversy the meeting failed and Irakli Sabulua had to leave the village.
