Lela Razikashvili: ”National Movement Appointed Vajaoba for the Second Time”

August 22, 2012

Vajaoba, in Chargali village in Dusheti district, was arranged for the second time in Vaja Pshavela’s museum on August 25. As Maia Kavtaradze, the head of the cultural service of Dusheti district administration, told the Information Centre of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Dusheti district administration organized the public festival Vajaoba.

“I cannot tell you what was arranged on July 14. Generally we celebrate it in August and the local government is always the organizer. We will celebrate it on August 25 this year too. It was scheduled in January to arrange Vajaoba in August. It includes various events. The exhibitions will be held and the horse-race will take a place as well”,-Maia Kavtaradze said.

Vajaoba was once held in Chargali on July 14. Bidzina Ivanishvili, the leader of the coalition Georgian Dream, and mainly the members and supporters of the coalition attended it.

As Lela Razikashvili, the former director of Vaja-Pshavela’s museum, stated, she was fired because she entertained Bidzina Ivanishvili on July 14. ”United National Movement selected Vajaoba to be held on August 25”,-Lela Razikashvili said.

Maia Kavaradze, the head of the cultural Service of Dusheti district administration, cannot clarify if the representatives of other political parties except activists and supporters of National Movement to attend Vajaoba on August 25.

As it is known, the law enforcers allowed only the supporters of the ruling party to participate in these events: Didgoroba, Beshumoba, and the horse-race in Bakhmaro.
