Solidarity Action for the Punk Group Pussy Riot

August 23, 2012

On August 22 at 8 o’clock, several young people held solidarity action in support of the arrested members of feminist punk group Pussy Riot in Batumi Boulevard.

George Bolkvadze one of the organizers of the action told Humanrights.ge that members of punk group were unjustly sentenced to two years of imprisonment. “Two years in a penal colony for women because they asked St. Mariam to expel Putin is unfair. It was not criminal offence. We want to express solidarity with our activity.”

Several tourists and activists released flashlights from seashore with an inscription: “Freedom to Pussy Riot”
