Poison-Chemicals Sprayed Toward Georgian Dream’s Supporters in Samegrelo

An incident occurred when Georgian Dream’s majoritarian candidate in Tsalenjikha district, Gia Nachkebia, was meeting with the population of Jgali village.

While people were meeting the majoritarian candidate on the village playground, they were attacked by the vehicles that are generally used to poison trees when they are infested by American white butterflies.

The witnesses reported to the news agency Iverioni that the vehicle directed the cannon of the poison-chemicals at the people. The driver and village governor were sitting in the car. People were astonished by this.

Five people were poisoned as a result of incident. They suffer from headache, dizziness, nausea and misbalance.

Iverioni called Gia Nachkebia who said it was the next provocation of the National Movement and there are responsible for the crime committed against this population.

“As soon as we entered the village, a car started following us; they stopped nearby the place of our meeting. When people gathered and we started talking, the car drove towards us. We realized what they were intending to do but they reached us before we could escape their attack. After they released the poison-cannon, white fog appeared around us and we could not see. The locals recognized the village governor in the car. I have just left the village and intend to inform the Tbilisi office of our coalition about the fact. We have video of the incident,” Gia Nachkebia told Iverioni.

The meeting was held on the playground where plants did not need poisoning. The vehicle with relevant apparatus was assigned to the district administrations by the National Food Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture to carry out preventive poisoning against white butterflies. Minister Zaza Gorozia opened the special HQ in Poti to coordinate the poisoning activities. One of the main responsibilities of the coordination HQ is to clearly clarify the rules of using the poisons to the village governors.
