Opposition Blames National Movement In Bribery

August 30, 2012

When the government is seizing property of the Georgian Dream and does not allow to carry out pre-election campaign, representatives of the ruling party in Kutaisi distribute money among micro-coordinators of all districts in Kutaisi. They paid 250 lari to those people for the implemented job last week,” Kutaisi organization of the Georgian Dream reports.

Other political parties also joined statement of Ivanishvili’s coalition. Free Georgia’s Kutaisi organization states that government dares everything to win elections.

National Movement has about 5 500 coordinators who get salaries in Kutaisi. There is no sheet, signature and form of income tax deductions. So the process is not registered anywhere that means it is bribery and not a salary. Micro coordinators receive 250 lari to enter houses and find whom people support and to persuade them to vote for the National Movement. As to coordinators their wages are higher”, - says Gogi Tsulaia head Free Georgia in Kutaisi.

Micro coordinators confirm that a few weeks ago ruling party instructed them to census people, find out their political affiliation but they don’t talk about salaries with Humanrights.ge

The opposition parties allege the National Movement tries to attract voters through financial resources and illegal actions.
