September 19, 2012

The public defender promises convicts’ families to help in visiting prisoners.

As the public defender told Interpressnews if any prisoner’s parent decides that they need a help of the Public Defender’s Office they may call number: 223 44 99 and apply to the representatives of public defender.

The public defender also mentioned that it is important for him to impose criminal liabilities on those persons who took part in the severe human rights violations by any form.

It is also important for Giorgi Tughushi how the investigation will be directed and hopes the society will get full information about the facts occurred in Gldani prison.

“I do not mean using various administrative measures, firing or abasing. I mean strict criminal liability under the Criminal Law. We have been talking about these facts for already three years in the Public Defender’s reports,” Tughushi added.

Tughushi added it is high time to finally put an end to inhuman and ill-treatment and torture of prisoners in detention settings.
