According to MIA one surname was incorrectly named in the secret audio recording

September 27, 2012

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has stated that there was a technical mistake in the secret audio recording that was produced on August 26. “There was a technical mistake in our audio recording. The person who talks with David Khizanishvili is Givi Bliadze and not Giorgi Ugulava”, the statement reads.

On September 26 the MIA provided telephone audio recordings involving Georgian Dream leaders Kakhi Kaladze and Gubaz Sanikidze. A briefing was also held about the recordings in the MIA office.

As it was stated at the briefing on September 23, police arrested “thief in law” David Khizanishvili, who was acting on behalf of Lasha Shushanashvili's criminal group. Their aim was to physically and psychologically threaten people in order to make them vote for a particular opposition party.

Another audio recording concerns Kakhi Kaladze, first on Georgian Dream's list of candidates. “We are providing an audio recording obtained by MIA that concerns Kaladze’s close relationship with 8 Georgian thieves in law living abroad” the MIA stated.

According to the MIA, another audio recording concerns the details of the deal between Gubaz Sanikidze, the majoritarian candidate in Kutaisi for Georgian Dream, and Valeri Khaburdzania, the former Georgian security minister under Shevardnadze.

In particular, Sanikidze asks Khaburdzania to help him to release one of the Georgian thieves in law from prison and in exchange he promises monetary compensation.

Asides from these two audio recordings, the MIA also provided other recordings showing who is involved in Georgian politics and with which politicians.

According to the recording, someone named Vova Eremian says to Levan Revishvili's criminal group that he has done everything perfectly as he was ordered to do by David Khizanishvili and everyone who lives on Metheki Bridge on 300 Aragveli Street are voting for Georgian Dream. In addition, they also released further material were Levan Ramsihvili talks to an unidentified person and says: “Have you seen two buses that we send with people shouting 'Bidzina , Bidzina'?”
