National Movement’s Activists Did Not Allow Georgian Dream Activists to Enter Church

September 28, 2012

On September 27 St. Andria Pirveltsodebuli’s church began to function. There was an incident between the members of National Movement and Georgian Dream at the opening ceremony. The members of National Movement did not allow Georgian Dream’s members, dressed in party t-shirts, to enter the church.

“Take off these t-shirts and then you will be allowed to enter the church. This is not protest rally to come here in those t-shirts”, - National Movement members demanded. However, people in National Movement t-shirts were standing in the church yard.

Later bishop Ioseb calmed down the tensed situation and clarified: “The church has been built for everyone and it is everybody’s property. Church is the God’s House and everybody can come in.”

After that Georgian Dream members could enter the church.
