Human Rights Center’s Observer in Sartichala PS # 49 Was Insulted and Threatened

October 1, 2012

Citizens of unidentified status, who introduced themselves as NGO representatives, threatened and verbally assaulted Human Rights Center’s observer Nino Gvedashvili in Sartichala PS # 49 in Gardabani DEC #21.

Nino Gvedashvili tried to file a complaint on the observed violations but those citizens did not allow her to. At the same time, those people publicly agitate in favor of the National Movement in the polling station and aggressively respond to all remarks. Nino Gvedashvili assumes those people might be law enforcement officers.

HRC observer called CEC hot line several times and requested their assistance but CEC did not respond. Human Rights Center’s head office also called CEC and they promised to respond to the violation.

At the end of the day, Nino Gvedashvili filed a complaint on the fact to the DEC.
