“You Had Better Behave Yourself or I will Knock You on the Head”-Voter Threatened

October 2, 2012

There are 127 polling stations in Kutaisi. In almost all these precincts the National Movement coordinators were recording the number of their supporters with so-called mobile lists.

This activity resulted in conflict between a coordinator and one of the voters in polling station # 69.

“The activists of National Movement have been here since morning. The coordinator is holding the list and is quickly writing something down. More precisely, they are detecting for whom people are voting. When I told Manana Chikhladze, the coordinator of our polling station, that this was not correct her husband Pavle Chikhladze insulted me. He said: “You had better behave yourself or I will knock you on the head.” These people have not realized yet that this country does not belong only to them and to National Movement. It is also ours and we have the right to a free election”, voter Luisa Gagua told humanrights.ge.

As for Manana Chikhladze, the National Movement coordinator, she left the scene of the incident with her husband within a few minutes.

According to our information, Manana Chikhladze’s daughter is a staff member at polling station # 69.
