Noise in Terjola Municipal Board

October 29, 2012

On October 24, first session of the municipal board was held in Terjola after October 1 election. They discussed 6-month budget of the Terjola district and issues connected with the appointment of a deputy chair of the municipal board.

Protest of the Georgian Dream’s representative Sopo Buskivadze caused noise during the session. “You represent the government, which opened special polling station for Kakha Buskhrikidze, majoritarian candidate of the National Movement and helped him to win the elections,” Sopo Buskivadze told members of the UNM.

She protested intimidation of their activists by the local authority during elections. Mevlud Bregvadze’s statement also caused controversy at the session; several months ago he quitted the position of the deputy chairman of the municipal board in protest. He shared the protest of the Coalition member.
