Roman Pipia Met Miners

October 29, 2012

On October 25, Company shareholder businessman Roman Pipia met miners-on-strike in Chiatura. At the meeting, they clarified that Roman Pipia did not know the situation in the Georgian Manganese.

“What was happening in the Georgian Manganese cannot be evaluated as irresponsibility. Simply, relevant structures did not timely respond to the problems; maybe it was within somebody’s interests,” Pipia said.

He promised miners to raise their salaries at 35%. The strikers said it is not enough. They request to satisfy all their demands and refuse to continue working unless they are satisfied. It is noteworthy that employees of the administrative body also went on strike in parallel to miners.
