Miners Set Up Ten-Member Commission in Tkibuli

On November 10, workers and technical personnel of Zaal Mindeli Mine of the Saknakhshiri Ltd (Georgian Coal) held assembly in front of culture house in Tkibuli. About 100 employees of the mine participated in it and requested raise in their salaries and proper working conditions.

Miners gathered in front of the Culture House set up ten-member commission which will cooperate with the representatives of the prime-minister. They have six-point requirements.

The strikers request to stop reduction of salaries of technical personnel and miners which started a few months ago. They also request resignation of the Ltd’s executive director.

If their requests are not satisfied, miners refuse to enter mine.

Tkibuli district governor Levan Dokhnadze met strikers. He suggested them to stop protest and return to their working places.
