Details of New Energy’s Activities to Be Sent to Investigative Bodies

“In most cases 3-4% of planned construction-rehabilitation of roads in accordance to the July-August resolutions of the previous government was implemented,” minister of regional development and infrastructure Davit Narmania said at the press-conference on November 13.

He said in separate cases 20% of the planned activities was implemented; particularly difficult situation is about the road of international significance – Kobi - Gudauri motorway.

Davit Narmania spoke about cooperation between the Ministry and Company New Energy and expenditure of company budget. The minister said relevant report on New Energy’s activities will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance. He said construction activities will be expertise and documents will be sent to investigative bodies; bid competition will be announced on part of works.

Deputy minister Shota Murgulia discussed the activities carried out by previous government. He said, according to 9 months data of the ministry’s activities, 57% of the scheduled work was implemented. Particularly “horrible situation” was observed in the third quarter when only 43% of the planned activities were implemented.

Besides, deputy minister Tengiz Shergelashvili underscored the issue containing “suspicious circumstances.” He said an investor from Kuwait had to invest 1 million lari throughout 3 years but the plan changed. Shergelashvili said the prosecutor’s office will study this case and origin of the funds.

Natural Disaster Liquidation Commission identified facilities in Kakheti and their rehabilitation will start in near future.

According to the deputy minister, with the participation of the NGO representatives and experts, a group of advisers will be set up which will take part in the decentralization process of the country. Shergelashvili clarified that it is strong will of the government to decentralize the authority and it is their priority of next months.
