Miners on Strike Raised Three Main Requests

November 16, 2012

On November 13, miners held session of strikers’ committee in Tkibuli Zaal Mindeli Mine. Every member of the committee attended the session and they decided to leave old requests in force.

However, as committee member and technical director of Saknakhshiri Marlen Bakhutashvili said: “Three more requests are added to old ones. 1) resignation of executive director and his team; 2) to annul resolution on the abolishment of Dzidziguri Mine and 3) to stop reduction of salary funds that was planned by the administration.”

365 people work in Dzidziguri Mine who will remain unemployed if the resolution goes in force. Besides that, according to spread information, Saknakhshiri’s administration intends to reduce salaries and budget will be decreased at 1 350 000 lari.

Miners claim they will not stop strike unless their requirements are met. Then, they will continue work in usual regime.
