Mineral Water Zvare Might Disappear

November 19, 2012

On November 15, residents of Zvare village in Kharagauli district protested approaching process of railway road construction in their village. Specialists said this construction will create ecological problems in the village and mineral water Zvare might disappear.

Minister of Environment Khatuna Gogoladze said several problems were observed in the village at this moment. “One of the problems is collapse of mountain soil which fell into the river. It might lead us to disaster because it can cause flood or torrents. It will get particularly dangerous in spring when river gets flooded. I think, damage of environment shall be calculated and we shall take relevant measures.”

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources also visited ongoing construction activities together with the environmental minister; they got interested to study the local problems.
