Illumination Gadget Fell from the Ceiling in the Room of the Chairman of Healthcare Committee

November 22, 2012
Illumination gadget fell from the ceiling in the room of Dimitry Khundadze, chairman of the healthcare committee at the parliament.

The incident occurred during ongoing committee session and the illuminator fell on the table when committee members were working. Khundadze said nobody damaged in the incident.

“The illuminator fell on us in the middle of working process. We were lucky; it hit nobody. Otherwise, it could have ended with tragedy,” said Khundadze.

He added that the building is dangerous and eventually they realize that there is more threat than they expected.

A leader of the parliamentary majority Koba Davitashvili requests to examine security of committee rooms. After the incident Davitashvili said every room shall be examined.

“360 million lari was spent on the construction of this building. I wonder did they spend money to receive similar results?! I request state security and building commandant to examine security in every committee room. If they find similar problems in other rooms, it should be eradicated! If they conclude that similar problems do not exist in other rooms and it happened only in our room, then this fact shall be investigated,” said Davitashvili.
