Tamar Rukhadze leaves Channel 9

December 4, 2012

Tamar Rukhadze, the head of the channel’s news service, took the decision to leave her position on the Channel 9.

According to Rukhadze the reason for such decision lies in the discrepancy between her views and the views of Luba Eliashvili, currently assuming the responsibilities of the director general of the channel, over the strategy to prepare news bulletins.

“It is unacceptable for me the views the has for the job I do. I’d rather refrain to judge which one of the opinions is rights, I just name things unacceptable for me”-says Rukhadze and specifies that Eliashvili’s views were clearly put at “the Polymeter” program from November 29, that boiled down to her inability to distinguish between the journalism and milk selling.

Together with Rukhadze “Channel 9” also left Irina Tevdorashvili, the adviser of director general on the social-political issues. She doesn’t reveal her reasons.

Once again we stress that“the Morning Program” team and Vasil Maglaperidze, the deputy director general and presenter of “the Consilium” program, and Kakha Bekauri, the director general, have left the channel. The information has spread on the media that Kakha Bekauri may be appointed the head of the communications’ committee, however, media.ge is yet unable to confirm the information.
