Former Employees of Hospital vs Director

December 11, 2012

On December 10, former employees of Zestaponi district hospital appealed to the Court with the request to receive their salary arrears of 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2011. The total amount of their salaries amounted to 31 000 lari. The suitors claim the former administration of the hospital owes salaries of 27 months to them.

In the afore-listed years Sergi Maglakelidze was director of the hospital who used to promise his colleagues to pay salaries but only part of medical personnel received it. Sergi Maglakelidze said several hospitals joined in 2012. Before that, Zestaponi district hospital belonged to the Ministry of Economy. Maglakelidze said personnel shall request hospital owners to pay the salaries.

Lawyer Kakha Shavgulidze will protect interests of former personnel of hospital at the court. He said “hospital director has issued a notification where he admits debt to the victims and court shall find way to restitute their breached rights.”
