Thea Tsulukiani Hopes Gia Gvichiani Will Soon Leave Prison

January 30, 2013

Minister of Justice of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani hopes Gia Gvichiani, convicted for the murder of the late financial manager of Telasi Company, will soon leave the prison.

Tsulukiani made this statement in the talk-show Position of the TV-Company Rustavi 2.

“Mr. Gvichiani was sentenced to life-imprisonment and that time prosecutor’s office wanted to cover Sandro Girgvliani’s case by his TV-detention. We will investigate this case; more precisely, we will investigate who hid the DNA test results. I hope Mr. Gvichiani will soon leave prison and he will personally tell you who visited him in prison, how he was arrested in front of TV-Cameras to cover other horrible facts,” Tsulukiani said.

According to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, people convicted for the murder of Nikoloz Lominadze, manager of Telasi had not killed him and chief prosecutor’s office has already sent new solicitation to the court based on new circumstances.

According to the prosecutor’s office, conclusion of the expertise conducted in the USA shows that people convicted for Lominadze’s murder were not at the scene of murder.

Those conclusions were stored in the prosecutor’s office though were not attached to the criminal case materials.

Nikoloz Lominadze was killed in 2002. In 2006 the murder case was resolved and Giorgi Gvichiani, Nodar Gvichiani, Nika Chemia, Avtandil Kherkeladze and Giorgi Papachashvili were found guilty in it.
