February 1, 2013
Kutaisi based nongovernmental organization Center for Education Development and Employment starts implementation of the new project “Public Forum for Civic Engagement”. According to the project, citizens will also participate in the discussion and final resolution of Kutaisi problems together with local government.

“In the frame of this project, Kutaisi residents will discuss urgent problems in Kutaisi. Finally, they will take part in the resolution process together with the local authority,” said Lika Kiladze, director of the Center for Education Development and Employment. According to her, 100 local citizens will take part in the project and they will be selected from all 12 municipal bodies of Kutaisi.

Representatives of local self-government also welcome the project of the nongovernmental organization. “Similar project will make citizens and representatives of the local government more active,” said chairman of the Kutaisi City Council Merab Meshveliani.

Kutaisi City Hall and City Council representatives are ready to cooperate with the nongovernmental organization.
