Kimeridze Family is Ceased to be Given Social Aid

On February 27 in 2013 a year passed after the death of Solomon Kimeridze. Solomon Kimeridze, resident in the village Kvishkheti of Khashuri district died in the Internal Affairs Department  in Khashuri as a result of falling from the third floor and receiving life-threatening injuries.

As the Human Rights Centre is informed by the family members, Kimeridze family was ceased to be given social aid since February 22 of 2013. According to the decision of Khashuri social subsidy agency, 373 families were ceased to be given social aids. . Gocha Barbakadze, the head of Khashuri social service agency states that members of 373 families named above concealed their incomes. “Social service agency quitted the aid on the basis  of information of State Revenue Service ”-states Barbakadze. According to him, the family members mentioned above concealed the source of their income and when it became obvious a strict decision was made. As they say in the social subsidy agency, they will give aids to some families when they crosscheck the data.

As for Solomon Kimeridze, Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) official statement says: ,: “During questioning accused Solomon Kimeridze fell off from the third floor banister when he was coming down to the second floor in Khashuri district agency  and dropped in the first floor hall, and got multiple body injuries. The ambulance car was called immediately by the police who took Solomon Kimeridze to the Khashuri district hospital. Because of the life threatening injuries, accused Solomon Kimeridze died on February 28 in 2012”.

The family of Solomon Kimeridze does not believe in the truthfulness of this statement.. His son Givi Kimeridze states that they demanded new investigation.

“We demanded  new investigation after election, because investigation threatened us at  that time. Zurab Zuliashvili and Koba Sutiashvili visited us and offered us some money in return of silence. We demand to hold an objective investigation  and punish people whose culpability will be obvious after the investigation”,-stated Givi Kimeridze. 47 year Solomon Kimeridze was being questioned as a suspect person in the Khashuri district police agency.
