Patrol Police Officers to Tear Posters in the Streets on April 19

April 16, 2013

Representatives of the National Movement’s youth branch video-recorded patrol police officers in Tbilisi who were removing announcement posters of the April 19 assembly of the UNM from walls.

Irma Nadirashvili of the UNM presented the video-materials at the press-conference to journalists in the political party’s office.

“When Tbilisi streets are not safe enough and many murders and robbery facts occur throughout the night, it is very pity that the minister instructs patrol officers to do what is not in their competence. We want to speak about it loudly because patrol police is symbol of new Georgia and it is highly trusted by the Georgian population; I would like to request the Minister of Interior not to turn this institute into the service removing posters from the streets; we believe it is not correct behavior and we request their clarifications why patrol police officers acted so,” Nadirashvili said.

Free Zone also blamed Prime-Minister and Minister of Interior of Georgia in forgery and spread video-materials in websites.

According to Free Zone’s representatives, statements of the Prime Minister and the Interior Minister as if patrol police is depoliticized is not true and the videos recorded by UNM’s youth activities prove it.
