Advertisement video-roll appeared on Georgian TV-Channels, which reports that Special Operative and Constitutional Security Departments of MIA were abolished, instead a new service – State Security Agency was established, etc. People shall conclude that the MIA refuses to continue faulty activities of the SOD and CSD and tries to create a new and healthy system. However, as the video-roll shows the MIA still continues to use funds of local budgets.

On May 8, head of the Commission for Infrastructure and Agricultural Issues Roman Tabatadze informed the members of the municipal board about the request of the MIA. “As you know our budget had purchased a vehicle for the CSD of the MIA in past years. Now, the ministry again petitioned to us and requested to give the vehicle directly to the MIA since the CSD was abolished,” Tabatadze said. Members of the Municipal Board supported the proposal and Tabatadze was among them.

Roman Tabatadze was asked why the municipal board had given the vehicle to the MIA and he answered: “it was not obligatory but it is our kind will to assist the institution in their active work. We will again sign agreement on borrowing the vehicle to the MIA,” member of Marneuli municipal board clarified.

Other board members said they could not act otherwise. Part of them proposed to give the vehicle to the MIA as a present but they were clarified it was impossible because the car was purchased by the local budget.

On April 29 Kkpress.ge published an article about borrowing properties to MIA in recent years. The article reported about Gardabani district where 41 vehicles were purchased by district budget in 2004-2014 and they were assigned to MIA based on the borrow agreements. Gardabani district administration has not received those cars back so far.
