MPs To Declare One-Month Moratorium

September 17, 2013

Shorena Kakabadze, Imereti

In October, the Parliament of Georgia will temporarily suspend working and MPs will actively participate in the pre-election processes – members of the parliamentary majority stated.

The parliamentary majority made the decision based on the Constitution of Georgia after the consultation with the parliament chairman Davit Usupashvili.

Before one-month moratorium, MPs will have to work hard. In September they intend to introduce amendments to the Constitution of Georgia with regard to the restriction of the prime-minister’s authority and amend quorum of parliament members.

Representatives of the legislative body state that parliament will discuss other significant bills after the presidential elections of October 27.
