Prosecutor’s Office Requested Court Permission on Secret Audio-Listening 1 207 Times within Six Months

From November 1, 2012 till May 9, 2013 Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia addressed the court 1 207 times with the request to issue permission on secret audio-listening and recording of phone conversations. 

The information was requested by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) from the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. 

No other information except figures is mentioned in the letter sent by the prosecutor’s office to the IDFI. 

“These solicitations contain secret information and we cannot give you copies or electronic versions of the documents,” the letter of the prosecutor’s office reads that was signed by Iraklli Chilingarashvili, head of Legal Maintenance Department of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.
