Gori district court concluded that district deputy governor Zaza Aduashvili was illegally fired from job and restored him to the position. The judge also concluded to reimburse three-month salary to him.

Lawyer Nona Skilashvili of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association protected Aduashvili’s interests at the trial; lawyers Vano Balakhashvili and Revaz Gogiashvili of the municipal board represented the district administration at the court. They clarified that Aduashvili had missed five working days and had not informed the senior official about it. It became the reason of his dismissal. Zaza Aduashvili denied the allegation at the trial and said that he could not appear at work due to health problems and the head of the administration Tsitso Orjonikidze was informed about it.

The lawyer of the district administration clarified that the deputy governor was entitled to inform about his health problems his direct boss – district governor instead the head of administrative service. Besides that, he had to provide a doctor’s notification with corresponding signature on it. Lawyer Nona Askilashvili requested annulment of the decree on Aduashvili’s dismissal that was signed by the chairman of the municipal board instead the district governor. Judge Davit Papuashvili upheld the solicitation, restored Aduashvili to the position and ordered the Gori district administration to reimburse Aduashvili’s three-month salary.

Zaza Aduashvili’s problems with the local governmental officials started several months ago, though he was member of the Georgian Dream. According to his allegation, several governmental officials physically assaulted him in the working room of the municipal board chairman. Local media reported that, majoritarian MP, district governor, his assistant and several people physically assaulted Aduashvili. After the incident, he was fired from job and the decree was signed by the municipal board chairman instead the district governor. The court found this fact illegal and ruled to restore Aduashvili to the position.
