Bacho Akhalaia Sentenced to 3, 9 Year Imprisonment in Prison Riot Case

Bacho Akhalaia was sentenced to 3, 9 year imprisonment in the Prison Riot Case. Judge Lasha Chkhikvadze decided to impose the same punishment on other accused into the same case Davit Chakua, Revaz Charbadze and Megis Kardava, who are still sought by law enforcement bodies. Initially, the court estimated 5-year-imprisonment but as a result of amnesty the sentence was reduced at ¼ and finally it made 3, 9 years. Besides that, Bachana Akhalaia will be restricted to occupy the position for 2,3 years and will be fined with 4 000 lari as well as other convicted people.

Other people - Megis Kardava, Davit Chakua and Revaz Charbadze - are also accused in the same case. They are accused of inhuman treatment and abuse of power. The victims in this case are so-called thieves-in-law and criminal lords. 

Judge Lasha Chkhakvadze discussed the case.
