71 Applications Submitted for Gurjaani District Governor’s Vacant Position

71 applications were submitted for the vacant position of the Gurjaani district governor. Six applicants are from Gurjaani and other are from different regions of Georgia.

Residents of Tbilisi, Adjara, Imereti and other regions have applied for the position. All applicants, except Gurjaani district interim governor Emzar Jikurishvili, are not known for local population.

The competition will be held in three stages. First the commission will select best applicants; at the second round applicants will be asked to write “their vision for the development of Gurjaani district,” and in the third round the commission will have interviews with the short listed candidates. The test commission will chose one from the applicants before November 28 and present him/her to the municipal board for approval.

The competition for the vacant position of the Gurjaani district governor was announced on October 24 and finished on November 7. In accordance to the competition requirements, candidate shall have master’s degree, at least 3-year working experience, preferably lawyer by profession and shall be familiar with laws and legal acts.
