International Children’s Day Marked in Kutaisi

On November 20 International Children’s Day was marked in Kutaisi. Kutaisi Education Development and Employment Center organized a final event in the frame of Civic Education and Teachers’ Training – “She/he did it for children.” Pupils of 9th, 10th and 11th forms of public schools from Imereti region took part in the program.

The presentations about famous and unknown people were made in the competition, who had particular merit in the protection of child’s rights. Competent jury selected three successful presentation; the jury members were Public Defender’s attorney in the region, representatives of the Youth Affairs Unit at the Kutaisi City Hall and civil society organizations.
 
“It was interesting event. Children are very clever. Similar initiatives are necessary for the development of youth’s skills to become plenipotentiary members of the society and tribute to the establishment of democratic society,” Madona Basiladze, Public Defender’s Attorney in the region, said.
