December 1, 2013

Mikheil Mamalashvili, Kakheti

Competition for the position of the Gurjaani district governor has finished. Only one candidate passed all stages of the competition – interim district governor Emzar Jikurishvili. Member of the Competition Commission Aleksandre Sirbilashvili said, Emzar Jikurishvili had the most convincing program and got most points.

Jikurashvili said he is well aware of the Gurjaani district problems and is ready to resolve them – “I gave them reasonable answers. I have information about all needs and problems of the district, town and village and believe that I comprehensively spoke about the methods how to resolve them during my interview.”

The competition for the position of the district governor was announced on October 24 and finished on November 7. Total 71 applications were submitted to the commission. The competition was held through three stages but only Emzar Jikurishvili reached the third stage. The candidature will be presented to the municipal board within two weeks for approval.
