Article Published on Humanrights.ge Won Competition of UN Population Fund

Article of the Human Rights Center’s media portal www.humanrights.ge “Boys Choose Technical Faculties and Girls –Humanitarian” won nomination Best Article in the competition announced by the UN Population Fund (UNFPA).

The article is about gender differentiation of labor and influence of gender identity when selecting professions (see article: http://humanrights.ge/index.php?a=main&pid=17371&lang=eng)

UNFPA, in the frame of program “Promotion Gender Equality in Georgia,” with the support of Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), announced media-competition for young journalists and bloggers. The purpose of the competition was to promote coverage of gender issues in media and popularization of youths’ rights in the society. 

The awarding ceremony took place in Zurab Tsereteli Exhibition Hall on December 6. Work of the journalist Guram Matskhonashvili of the organization Identity – video-package “Tram Named “Desire” - won the category Best Multimedia. Gender Program Coordinator of the Heinrich Boell Foundation Eter Nogaideli received the first prize in the category –best blog.
