Five Candidates for the Position of Ozurgeti City Mayor

Candidates for the position of the mayor were already nominated in Ozurgeti. They are: member of the quartet Alilo Beka Chkhaidze; head of western office of the Monitoring Department of the Revenue Service Aleksandre Surguladze; former manager of the Ozurgeti district service center of the United Water Supply Ivane Tabatadze, member of the Ozurgeti district office of the political party Democratic Georgia Kakhaber Kechakmadze and leader of the Ozurgeti office of the Republic Party Tipo Mikatadze.

Ivane Tabatadze refused to comment on the issue though noted that he will participate in the elections as an independent candidate.

Aleksandre Surguladze has not made decision yet.

According to the Human Rights Center’s information, Surguladze is a friend of single-seat MP from Ozurgeti district but as Surguladze said they have never discussed position of mayor. 

Singer from Alilo Beka Chkhaidze confirmed the spread information and said his friends offered him to participate in the elections. “My friends, relatives asked me to participate in the elections. If my hometown needs me, I can support them. I will do everything what the population needs. I am not anybody’s rival; I have never lost contest and am ready for it. People will make final decision. I will do my best for the people and town,” Chkhaidze said.

Tipo Mikatadze from the Republic Party said the Coalition shall nominate a candidate for the position.
