Student Status to Be Suspended for 510 Students of Telavi University

April 1, 2014

Nino Devidze, Kakheti

510 students of the Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili State University might lose student status. Head of the university administration Paata Gotsiridze said official notifications were already sent to students. “According to past experience, students initially took academic and then administrative registration. We always acknowledged situations of individual students and allowed them to pay education fee in four portions. Unfortunately, they could not do it either and payment was postponed; it led us to current situation.”

Gotsiridze said in future the Telavi University plans to introduce new system of payment. “We plan to establish the same system of payment as other universities have. The students will be allowed into lectures only after they pay money. In similar situation we will avoid the problems which students have now.”

If students do not cover education fee before the end of the month, they will not be allowed to take mid-term exams. Unless they pay education fees by the end of the term, their status will be suspended.
