Deadline for applicants to send applications for the vacant positions in the local self-governmental bodies were expired on November 6. 607 applicants submitted 1570 applications for 102 vacant positions. 337 applicants passed second stage but only 317 of them took part in the test-exams; according to the preliminary information 256 of them passed barrier of 51%.

Nino Tsetsvadze, head of the City Hall Administration Service: “Examination Center must send us final results; they also wait for the deadline for the appeal term to expire as we do not yet have information how many applicants appealed the results and how their cases will finish. The Center will officially provide us with the information and we will publish the received data.”

According to the National Center of Examinations three applicants appealed the test results from Gori district.

As for the district administration and municipal board, there was higher competition there. About 10 applications were sent for one position – 209 applications were sent for 15 vacant positions in the municipal board.

924 applications were sent for 161 vacant positions at the district administration. 610 applicants passed the test-exams and 176 new employees will be selected after interviews.

United National Movement’s Gori office declared mistrust to the competitions at Gori city hall and district administration; they said part of tests was preliminarily shared with the supporters of the Georgian Dream. City Mayor and chairman of the competition commission Zurab Jirkvelishvili said it was nonsense.

On November 14, head of National Examination Center Maya Miminoshvili visited Gori to meet applicants; she responded to the accusations of the opposition members, who alleged that National Examination Center had received the part of tests from the district administration.
Maya Miminoshvili, director of the National Examination Center: “The National Examination Center takes full responsibility for the confidentiality of the materials.”

Gori City Council voted for the mayor Zurab Jirkvelishvili for the position of the competition commission chairman and municipal board selected Davit Oniashvili for the district governor’s position. The commission will continue interviews before mid December.
