New Secretary of Security and Crisis Management Council Appointed

Davit Sujashvili, who has served as head of the intelligence service for a year, was appointed as new secretary of the State Security and Crisis Management Council, a body chaired by the Prime Minister.

The post has been vacant since council’s previous secretary, Mindia Janelidze, was appointed as new defense minister in early November.

Before becoming head of the intelligence service in December 2013, new secretary of the State Security and Crisis Management Council, Davit Sujashvili, served as head of the Interior Ministry’s information and analytical department since late 2012.

Also on December 5 PM’s office said that Roman Chkhenkeli has been replaced on the post of secretary of PM’s economic council by business ombudsman Giorgi Gakharia. The latter will also retain the post of business ombudsman.
