Investigation started into physical controversy between Gori city council member and citizen

On February 23, an incident occurred between the city council member Ioseb Palelashvili and Beka Batitadze, son of the Ditsi village former attorney Zakaria Batitadze in the office of the Shida Kartli regional administration. It’s unknown what Ioseb Palelashvili and Beka Batitadze were doing at night in the administration building. 

Interior Ministry has confirmed the information about the physical controversy between the council member and citizen. According to the press-center of the Ministry the investigation was launched under the Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Georgia that refers to beating.  However, nobody was arrested into the case so far. 

It is not first incident of the City Council member Ioseb Palelashvili. A few months ago he participated in the incident in the restaurant ”Sports Café “and on January 14, in the incident in the restaurant “Natcharmagevi”. The Georgian Dream member Ioseb Palelashvili was questioned into the incident in the restaurant “Natcharmagevi”. 

The video aired by the TV-Company “Trialeti” shows that employee of the City Council Mikheil Shengelia physically assaulted City Council member Zurab Rosebashvili in the restaurant “Natcharmagevi”. The case was launched under Article 125, but the investigation has not finished yet.
