On July 16, uniformed Russian and Ossetian armed forces mobilized at the surrounding area of Khurvaleti and Tsitelubani villages. They did not allow locals to harvest. The locals ask for help from the Government. They think that the situation became difficult after media representatives dismantled so-called “border banner” of South Ossetia.

Robert Gazaev, representative of de-facto Tskhinvali Government was also near the territory with the armed persons.

“Here goes the so-called “State Border” of South Ossetia and if you do not hold back from moving it, we will take appropriate measures,” –Robert Guzaev told Georgian journalists. According to him, a discussion about recent events developed within the zone of conflict, will be held on Monday at the special meeting planned within the incident prevention format in Ergneti.

Ossetian side requested the meeting. The meeting is scheduled on July 20 in Ergneti with the mediation of EU Monitoring Mission and in agreement with Georgian side.

A representative of the head of de-facto Tskhinvali Government Muraj Jioev spoke about recent events at the occupation line in the interview with the TV “Iris” and said that those demonstrations that are conducted at the ‘border”, are  pre-planned provocation.

“Works and border monitoring were always conducted on those territories that are the subject of the discussion and was never a subject of interest for the adjacent side, because we have never crossed the border line. Now this is an artificially inflated process. We will continue to work on defining the border line,” – said Murat Jioev.

At the Government meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili responded to the ongoing events on the occupation line.
“We lead extremely careful and constructive policy, but we will never adapt the occupation of our territories. This is our principal attitude, which will never change. There is nothing that can make us compromise on subjects that are related to Abkhazia and Samachablo, however this is a long process, because we have to solve the problems that have been accumulated for years with clever politics and not with irresponsible, emotional, immature and noisy screaming.” – said Irakli Gharibashvili.

According to him, for last three years, the Government of Georgia proved that it wishes reconciliation with Abkhazian and Ossetian brothers. As he said, he is not exposing those many positive steps that have been made towards to reconciliation.
