Ruling coalition Georgian Dream named Tamar Khidasheli to be their single mandate (majoritarian) candidate for the snap parliamentary elections in Sagarejo district. Tamar Khidasheli is former chairperson of the nongovernmental organization Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association. She was twice elected to the position of the board chair in the GYLA. Next she worked for the UNDP and last time in the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili nominated her candidature as a single mandate candidate at the special press-conference.
Garibashvili said it is important for the Coalition to attract qualified women in politics.
“As for the election program, short time is left before elections and our main promise will be to realize pre-election promises of Tinatin Khidasheli,” Tamar Khidasheli said after nomination.
Snap parliamentary elections are scheduled in Martvili too. Soso Danelia is the majoritarian candidate of the Coalition there. The Prime Minister said Danelia worked in the diplomatic mission in Italy.
Snap elections shall take place in Sagarejo and Martvili municipalities in October 2015. Voters of the districts do not have their representatives in the parliament because several months ago MP from Martvili district deceased and MP Tina Khidasheli occupied position of the Defense of Minister lately.

Alliance of Patriots also plans to participate in the snap elections; their candidate in Sagarejo district is Irma Inashvili.
Part of non-parliamentary opposition and United National Movement boycott the snap elections. Head of UNM office in Kakheti Giorgi Botkoveli told humanrights.ge that their party is not going to participate because they officially boycott it unless the election system is changed.
