Lela Khechoshvili, Kakheti

As a result of heavy rain landslide fell in several parts of Pshaveli-Omalo motorway which connects Tusheti mountainous region with other parts. Director of the Ltd Tushetgza (Tusheti road) Omar Lekishvili said they are cleaning the road and if heavy rain does not continue the road will be opened today.

Locals said it was heavy rain in Tusheti last night. It snowed in the mountainous pass.
“”There are people and tourists who still need to come back from Tusheti; unless they repair the road timely, it will get more difficult to leave the region. Several cars had to go back this morning because the rock has fallen near Samkhevi,” local Esma Akimidze told humanrights.ge.

She added the road will get blocked to Tusheti from October till May because of bad weather and heavy snow. Before that people can fly there by helicopter.
