On January 4, chairman of the fraction Georgian Dream in the Gori City Council Ioseb Palelashvili quitted the Coalition Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia together with the fraction.

”I quitted my position as a fraction chairman and also left the Coalition. I have feeling of injustice in this party and decided to become independent deputy,” Palelashvili told journalists.

Deputy chair of the City Council and interim chairwoman of the local organization of the Georgian Dream Nino Zurabishvili said the political party has not lost many resources with Palelashvili’s decision. “Who no longer sees himself in the political party, can leave it any time. The party needs refreshment.”

Next day after Palelashvili’s decision, part of the city council opposition members registered second application for impeachment for the past four months. This time, deputies from the Georgian Party, Free Democrats and United National Movement, 7 deputies, request impeachment of the Council senior officials. They declare mistrust to 6 officials.
