The swimming pool in Gori has not functioned for two years already because of the demolished building. In accordance to the conclusion of the Levan Samkharauli Expertise Bureau, the technical conditions of the building are not satisfactory. As promised by the local government, the rehabilitation of the swimming pool was to be finished before the end of 2015 but it has not finished yet.

One of the remarks of the local opposition members towards the Gori City Hall is uncompleted infrastructural projects.

“They have turned the Gori swimming pool into a fortress, which was impossible to complete. The same has happened with the reconstruction of this pool. Representatives of the City Hall promised us last year that they would open the swimming pool last year but did not keep their promise,” Ramaz Chutkerashvili from the UNM said.

Press-center of the Gori City Hall clarified that the company Ltd Modern Architectural Group, who won the bid last year, could not properly implement their duties. As a result the agreement was suspended with the company and relevant sanctions were imposed on them.

Gori City Hall announced second bid on December 14, 2015. On December 18, Ltd Godoli 2008 won the competition and agreement was signed with them. According to the contract, the project should be drafted within 95 days. Gori City Hall has allocated 601 832 GEL for full rehabilitation of the swimming pool building.
