“United National Movement Must Be Prohibited” – the pre-election campaign of the UNM was protested in Gori with this slogan. UNM nominated Badri Basishvili to be their single mandate candidate in the district for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The protest demonstration was organized by the members and supporters of the political party Our Homeland on July 14 near the UNM Gori office.

“United National Movement as a political party and nomination of Badri Basishvili to be the single mandate candidate in the elections is abusive for our country. Basishvili was zonder and he is responsible for all the crimes committed by the previous government,” political secretary of the Our Homeland Zviad Khubulashvili said.

During the demonstration UNM members and single mandate candidate Badri Basishvili watched the protest rally from their office.
“Slaves of the Russian oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili and Putin organized this demonstration. We will win elections on October 8; this demonstration amuses us,” Basishvili said.

On July 10, UNM presented Aleksandre Goglidze to be the single mandate candidate in Gori and Badri Basishvili to be the single mandata candidate in the municipality.
