Irakli Sesiashvili’s early celebration and the lowest result - second round in 5 districts of Kakheti

As the Information Center of Kakheti had predicted a day before the Election Day, the only district where the Georgian Dream won single-mandate ballot was Sighnaghi-Dedoplistskaro DECS. The second round will be held in Sagarejo, Gurjaani, Lagodekhi-Kvareli, Telavi-Kvareli and Akhmeta-Telavi majority election districts. Irakli Sesiashvili received one of the lowest results (41%) in Telavi-Kvareli district. He defeated the candidate from the UNM only with 5%. At the same time, Sesiashvili celebrated the victory at night of the Election Day before the official results were published and he claimed that had gained 4.5 times more votes than his competitor. 

According to the Sagarejo DEC all 50 precincts were counted. Roman Muchiashvili, the single mandate candidate from the Georgian Dream, received 46.53% (9375 votes), Zurab Tchiaberashvili from the UNM 25.01% (5039 votes). Irma Inashvili from the Alliance of the Patriots took the third place with 19.48%, but according to the law the first two candidates with most votes goes into the second round.

The candidates from the Georgian Dream and UNM will participate in the second round of single-mandate ballot in Gurjaani District majority.  Davit Songhulashvili from the Georgian Dream received 44% (13 288 votes) and Giorgi Ghviniashvili 33 % (9819 votes) in the Gurjaani PS #47. 

Lagodekhi DEC - Guram Matcharashvili from the Georgian Dream gained 35% (7468 votes) and Guram Kakalashvili from the UNM 20.6% (4420 votes)  in Lagodekhi-Kvareli Election District. The villages of Kvareli DEC which joined Lagodekhi DEC, will also be added to the latter. 

At night of October 8, Irakli Sesiashvili, the single mandate candidate from the Georgian Dream celebrated early victory in the elections in Telavi-Kvareli DEC. At midnight in the interview with TV-Company Rustavi 2, Irakli Sesiashvili declared he outdid the UNM candidate 4.5 times. 

“According to our information, we expect more results from the CEC than we, the Georgian Dream and I have, by now, because we maximally filtered voters and despite it, we have higher results than exit-polls showed. You know that according to the exit-poll the Georgian Dream received 53%, we have a bit more. There is big difference in the percentage between the GD and the UNM in Telavi. I can tell you that it is approximately 4.5 times more”, - Irakli Sesiashvili declared. 

In fact, after the votes were counted, Irakli Sesiashvili turned out to have gained the lowest results (41%) among the Georgian Dream’s single mandate candidates. He outran Giorgi Botkoveli from the UNM only with 5%. 
According to the information of all 47 polling stations in the Telavi-Kvareli  DEC # 27, Irakli Sesiashvili has 41% (11 677 votes) and Giorgi Botkoveli 36 % (10 018 votes). 
Gela Samkharauli from the Georgian Dream received 46% (11762 votes) and Shakro Terterashvili 32.27% (8200 votes) in the Akhmeta-Telavi Election District. 
Irakli Shiolashvili from the Georgian Dream won the first round with 55.45% in Sighnaghi-Dedoplistskaro Election District. His opponent Levan Bezhashvili from the UNM received 26.2%. 
In the second round the candidate, who will receive more votes, will win the ballot. The second rounds shall be held until November 2. 
We remind you, in 2014, the second round was in the Local Self-Government Elections in Telavi, Telavi community, Kvareli and Akhmeta. In the first round the Georgian Dream had 43.18%, the UNM – 22.26%. In the second round 70.5% and 29.5%, respectively. 
In the Telavi community in the first round the GD received 49.88% and UNM 26.88%. In the second round the GD gained - 71% and the UNM – 29%. 
In Kvareli in the first round the GD gained 48.68% and the UNM – 24.24%. In the second round accordingly: 80% and 20%. 
In Akhmeta in the first round the GD had 42.75%, the Burjanadze-Democrats 27.89%. In the second round the GD – 59% and the Burjanadze-Democrats – 41%. 
The turnout of voters: in the first round it reached 43% in Telavi, 54% in Kvareli, and 48% in Akhmeta. In the second round the turnout reached 37% in Telavi, 40% in Kvareli and 48% in Akhmeta.
