Chairperson of the Gori City Council Speaks about Poorly Implemented Projects

September 28, 2017

On September 28, assessment of the work implemented by the supervision service of the City Hall caused noise during the bureau session of the Gori city council. Interim chairperson of the city council Zurab Rosebashvili said the tenders announced by the City Hall are implemented poorly and the supervision service does not adequately react on them.

“The Gori Art School was poorly rehabilitated. They paved the stairs with old basalt tablets. 100 000 GEL was spent on the rehabilitation and rain still leaks into the building; there are some other problems too,” Rosebashvili said.

Head of the supervision service said he did not have information about the problems in the art school. Mirian Klimiashvili said, the roof was rehabilitated and it is first time that he heard about the problem of rain leaking.

Mirian Klimiashvili, head of the supervision service at the Gori City Hall: “We have not yet finished rehabilitation works in the art school and if there are any problems, the contract contains the provision which will oblige the building company to correct the miscarriages in the constructions. The supervision service examines all buildings before accepting the completely rehabilitated buildings.”

Klimiashvili offered the council members to visit the art school and all other buildings together, which are being rehabilitated and they have queries about the quality of implemented work.
