A citizen applied to the Human Rights Center from one of the quarantine premises located in Batumi seeking for help and complaining on the hygienic issues of food preparation.

Based on the application of the citizen, a lawyer at the Human Rights Center applied to the National Food Agency with the request to respond to the issue and in particular to study in due time the situation in the hotel located at 3, Lekh and Maria Kachinsky Street in Batumi and to take appropriate measures.

The Agency reacted and according to the information received from the Agency, both regular and unplanned inspections were carried out following the request of the Human Rights Center. In checking the business entity, the officers gave recommendations to the hotel regarding the identified discrepancies with respect to the general hygiene requirements and assigned them a reasonable period of time to remedy the shortfalls.

(ISFED), (GDI) and (HRC) are implementing the project Democracy and Human Rights in a State of Emergency. The project is supported by the Open Society Georgia Foundation.
